Whew, the big surgery day is over and I made it just fine. We dropped Bub off at the neighbors and headed to the hospital. We checked in and I got to play with all of the fun toys, no wonder they call this the "children's hospital." The nurse came and got me and she was fun, nice and ready to get to business. She weighed me, took my temp, stuck a sticker on my finger to check my oxygen, took my blood pressure and all of the other "need to do" things. After I changed into my scrub pj's I got to play more. The doctor came and talked to Mom and Dad. Next the "sleep doctor" came out. We followed her in to the dark sleepy room. I put bubble gum scented bonnie bell chap stick in my sleep mask and it smelled great! One nurse blew bubbles over me while I laid on the bed breathing the sleepy air. I liked watching the lights change colors all over the ceiling like stars at night. Then off to sleep I went.
Suddenly I woke up and I wanted Mom and Dad ASAP!! They told me the surgery was all done and that I did great. What were they talking about?? I didn't remember any surgery...just the glowing lights. Well anyways, fine by me. They put me in a wagon and we walked around while I woke up. I didn't know if my parents had noticed or not but I mentioned to them "do you know that we are walking in circles?" They had noticed because there was not much space for a wagon ride. After a couple of freeze pops I was ready to go home. Finally, I could eat something and that happy meal from McD's tasted great.
Hopefully now I will be able to hear just like everyone else!
